The second Memorial Lecture of Prof. A. S. Vasudeva Murthy was organized by Mahindra University on May 11, 2023. This memorial lecture is an annual lecture instituted by Mahindra University in the year 2022 as a mark of respect to Prof. Vasudeva Murthy for his contribution as a mathematician towards the growth of the university. This year’s memorial lecture was delivered by Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti, FNA, FASc, FNAE, a senior professor of computer science and engineering and former director of IIT Kharagpur followed by an invited talk by Prof. Anindya Goswami, Associate Professor, IISER Pune.

The event started with address by the VC Prof. Yajulu Medury where he spoke briefly about Prof. Vasudeva Murthy and his contribution towards the growth and development of university. His brief address was followed by an address by Dean Academics Prof. B. P. Pal who introduced the speaker Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti to the audience.

Professor Chakrabarti delivered an enthralling and engaging talk on ‘Artificial Intelligence- Emerging Face Of Modern Scientific & Industrial Revolution’.

The invited talk followed the Memorial lecture and it was delivered by Prof. Anindya Goswami. He spoke on the topic of ‘Relevance of Machine Learning in Quantitative Finance’.

The talks were thoroughly enjoyed by the students and faculty.
