Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Aerospace Propulsion
Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Mechanical and Aerospace Eng. department of Mahindra University for a project sponsored by the Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB), DRDO.
Project title: Design Optimization of Turbine Nozzle Guide Vane Three-Dimensional Airfoils
Description of the work: You will have to carry out CFD simulations for different designs of a turbine stage (of an aircraft engine) with commercial CFD software such as ANSYS CFX. To this end, you will have to perform 3D CAD design of the turbine blades, grid generation, CFD simulations and post-processing of the results. The CFD results would be used for obtaining an optimal turbine stator vane design that minimizes aerodynamic losses. You will be working in collaboration with the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), DRDO. The research results would be used for the design of advanced combat aircraft engine turbines.
Required Qualifications: The prospective candidate should have an M.E/M.Tech from a tier 1 or tier 2 institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with a strong interest in aerospace propulsion and expertise and familiarity with CFD. Candidates with BTech degree having strong credentials will also be considered.
The JRF will be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. degree in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department of Ecole Centrale School of Engineering, Mahindra University, Hyderabad.
Salary: Monthly remuneration is going to be Rs. 25,000 along with free lodging and boarding in our spacious hostels on the university campus. The equivalent CTC works out to be around Rs. 40,000 p.m.
About the university: Mahindra Ecole Centrale was established in the year 2014 as a collaboration between the Mahindra Group and the prestigious Ecole Centrale Group of Institutions of France. Mahindra Ecole Centrale transformed into the full-fledged Mahindra University in the year 2020. The JRF will operate from the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering of Mahindra University.
