Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tavva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mahindra École Centrale College of Engineering. He earned his Doctorate degree in “Vaisesika Graph Grammar System: A Generative Ontology Approach”, which is at the crossroads of Computer Science, Philosophy and Logic, from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad. He also earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT-Hyderabad.

Research experience:
Although his primary focus is Computational Semantics, his research interests are interdisciplinary in nature, given his training in both Sciences as well as Humanities. He is interested in working at the crossroads of varied disciplines like Computer Science, Digital Humanities, Logic, Ontology, Philosophy and Mathematics. He is knowledgeable in Scientific disciplines like Computer Science, Formal Logic and the Foundations of Mathematics, as well as Humanities disciplines like Indian and Western Philosophy, Ontology and Philosophical Logic. He is also keenly interested in applying traditional Indian knowledge systems to Computer Science and vice-versa.

Awards/Achievements:
- Placed in the Dean’s List I for the semesters Monsoon 2008 and Spring 2008.
- Placed in the Dean’s Merit List for the semesters Monsoon 2005 and Spring 2006.
- Among the top 60 candidates, from all across India, selected for International Maths Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) which he attended in Homi Bhabha Science and Education Center, Mumbai, India from May 12th to June 14th, 2004.
- Secured State 2nd in State Level Maths Talent Test conducted by the Association for Improvement of Maths Education (AIMEd) in 2003.
