Offices & Services
The University’s academic programs are effectively structured, managed, and executed through a network of academic and non-academic offices and services. These encompass Disciplinary Schools and Departments, as well as the Undergraduate and Graduate Dean’s office, along with other service-oriented offices. These offices play a vital role in supporting students, faculty, staff, and various stakeholders, facilitating the seamless and efficient operation of departments. Their responsibilities encompass crucial tasks such as overseeing and coordinating the University’s academic programs, formulating and implementing academic and administrative policies, maintaining cutting-edge knowledge resources, and executing student welfare initiatives and other programs.
All University academic officers – the Deans, Directors of the disciplinary schools, the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations, the Chairs as well as the administrative heads – report directly or indirectly to the Vice-Chancellor.
The Vice-Chancellor holds a significant position within the University, overseeing various academic officers such as Deans, Directors, the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations, and administrative heads. These individuals, either directly or indirectly, report to the Vice-Chancellor.
One of the key responsibilities of the Vice-Chancellor is to recommend to the Executive Council the establishment or continuation of academic units, programs, and recruitment. They also play a crucial role in determining the promotion of faculty and other employees of the institution. In addition, the Vice-Chancellor is responsible for formulating and issuing rules and regulations that align with statutory policies and procedures.
Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor acts as a vital link between the University and various governmental and non-governmental agencies and institutions at local, state, regional, national, and international levels. This interface facilitates collaboration and cooperation, aiming to enhance and expand the University’s programs and services to benefit the broader community.
